The International Federation on Ageing (IFA) is launching the International Istanbul Initiative on Ageing. It aims to explore opportunities and innovative ideas as population ageing progresses specifically in the regions of the Middle East, Northern Africa and Eastern Europe. Over $50,000 (USD) in financial awards will be presented to the Age-Friendly innovations and the best overall paper of the congress with additional awards for the best paper in each theme. The 23rd Alzheimer Europe Conference is set under the motto “Living well in a dementia-friendly society”. Alzheimer Europe and the Malta Dementia Society invitesyou to explore how our perceptions and image of dementia have an impact on the lives of people with dementia and their carers. This will include examples of good practice of involving people with dementia in activities and projects and the establishment of dementia friendly communities. The importance of ethical issues and a rights-based legal framework will also be addressed.

The 6th edition of the conference CTAD2013 will once again bring the key leaders involved in clinical trials to appreciate the full spectrum of AD from an asymptomatic stage through dementia, discuss the development of the next generation of Alzheimer’s disease treatments as well as learn to harmonize the various neuro-imaging techniques and their analyses.

Intended for leaders in ageing services, the event will connect providers, business leaders, researchers, architects, developers and others from around the globe. The 16th Asia Pacific Regional Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease International will focus on “Capacity building in dementia care” and will be organized as follows: 11-13 december 2013 at the Hong Kong Convention Center and on the 14 december 2013 at the World Trade Center of Macau. HelpAge International launches Global AgeWatch, that provides data and analysis on population ageing. The first phase comprises of national report cards for 195 countries giving internationally comparable statistics on population ageing.
