The Canadian Association on Gerontology (CAG) will hold its 42nd Annual Scientific and Educational Meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia, hosted by the Geriatric Department of Dalhousie University. This year’s theme “Aging...from Cells to Society” underlines the importance of multi- and interdisciplinary perspectives on aging as we explore the impacts and changes of aging, from our bodies to our society. Abstracts from all disciplines and all interests in aging, including research, practice, policy and related work are due before April 30, 2013.

The Autumn 2013 Scientific Meeting of the British Geriatrics Society will provide a packed scientific programme, with updates on a variety of clinical topics and parallel sessions covering several special interests. The 66th GSA Annual Scientific Meeting will treat the theme, “Optimal Aging Through Research". Attendees will have perspectives on areas of research such as basic sciences, clinical sciences, behavioral sciences, or social sciences.

The congress theme "Age Well - Challenges for Individuals and Society",will highlight notions concerning functioning and well-being, despite the threats and challenges confronting aging individuals. What can we learn from research suggesting measures aiming at the reduction of the effects of compromised health and functioning, and how can we increase autonomy and societal participation? The main track of the congress includes sessions on multiple aspects of aging, from cell to society. In addition, there will be a sub-track for research and development (R&D) and applied gerontology.
